Trail of Tears State Park

Named for the forced march of the Cherokees at their crossing of the Mississippi, the Park stretches from the high bluffs to the river valley with camping in both areas. The Interpretive Center offers exhibits on the Cherokees and other tribes, as well as the natural history of the area. The 10 mile Peewah Trail winds through the Indian Creek Wild Area that includes a diverse flora ranging from canebrakes to short leaf pines with many flowering plants and trees.
