Taum Sauk Mountain State Park

Rising to an elevation of 1,772 feet, Taum Sauk Mountain is Missouri's Crown. Access is by auto or the Taum Sauk Trail which mid-points at Johnson's Shut-Ins and offers 24 miles of Ozarkian vistas including Mina Sauk Falls, Devil's Toll Gate, and the Black River's East Fork rushing through the Shut-Ins. Camping, day hikes, fishing, and a diverse flora including edible mushrooms attract Scouts and campers from all over the Mid-West.
