Meramec State Park

Located on the Meramec River, the park boasts of more than 3 dozen caves, an excellent visitors center with displays and murals, and cabins and dining lodge built by the CCC. The river is a favorite for floating, swimming and fishing, and provides a diverse flora including the cardinal flower which attracts migrating hummingbirds in the fall.
